In Action!

I love doing assemblies, creative writing workshops, school visits, book signings, library talks and festivals. My sessions are fun and interactive and yes, there will be audience participation!

School visits: I offer a 60 minute assembly to KS2, where I talk about how I became an author, where my ideas come from, and how I researched and edited The Matilda Effect. I also offer a 60 minute creative writing workshop for KS2, where we look at creating our own characters, using my character checklist, add conflict to a story, and how to write a cracking opening sentence. For Reception & KS1, I offer a 30 minute assembly sharing my picture book, 'Oh, Armadillo! This Party's All Wrong!' and the inspiration behind it, along with a creative task and activity sheets on thinking differently about things.

Festivals: I'm currently available for a fun & interactive 30 minute session for ages 3-6, sharing my picture book, 'Oh, Armadillo! This Party's All Wrong!'
